Tonight at 7 PM I’ll be talking to the Western Carolina University MENC chapter. They left the topic pretty open, just asking me to talk about music education, focusing on some my background as a music teacher and offering anything that they might find helpful or interesting. I plan to begin by talking about how I came to become a music teacher (not what I originally expected to do when I started college) and how I ended up teaching and playing music here in western North Carolina. After that I’ll open it up for questions or keep babbling about what I’ve done and my future teaching goals.
If you’re in the area and want to stop by, we’ll be in Coulter Hall 357 at Western Carolina University (click for a campus map). It’s open for everyone, not just students.
