They had their own <a href=\"http:\/\/muppet.wikia.com\/wiki\/The_Muppet_Orchestra\">Muppet Orchestra<\/a>, of course, but I haven&#8217;t found a definitive list yet of who most of the sound track musicians were. Some of those muppet studio musicians had to play with some great jazz musicians. How would you like to be <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ronnie_Verrell\">Ronnie Verrell<\/a>, who plays Animal&#8217;s drum parts and have to drum battle with Buddy Rich?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VJh9W3Gcpmo\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/muppet.wikia.com\/wiki\/Muppet_Show_Musicians\">Frank Reidy<\/a> supposedly played a lot of the saxophone and clarinet parts for the Muppet Show. He got to follow Dizzy Gillespie&#8217;s trumpet solo on <em>Swing Low Sweet Cadillac<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lK8Cp3azW-I\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And while not really an example of burning jazz playing, the Sax and Violence sketch from the Muppet Shows reminds me of the Dizzy Gillespie&#8217;s bit with his &nbsp;big band performance of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/at-newport-live-1957\/id117927\"><em>Doodlin<\/em>&#8216; at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1957<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CgfZVNv6w2E\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Then there&#8217;s this version the Muppet Orchestra did of the jazz standard, <em>Honeysuckle Rose.<\/em>&nbsp;While the buzzing gets annoying to me, the interplay between bass and sax is fun and I like how the bassist covers the melody at times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WNCDkiSXNp8\" height=\"360\" width=\"480\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are other children&#8217;s television shows I can think of that often featured jazz or other art music.
